Almost as precious as what was inside:

A really nice Juicer!  6 months of green drink withdrawals since Whole Foods bought out Wild Oats and replaced the juice bar with a bakery.  Now I can drink my bitter greens instead of being bitter (and start complaining about the price of greens).

Christmas Memories

1. Performing Christmas carols with my sister.

  2. A worn copy of my favorite Christmas story.

3. The snow laden tree outside the window of 

the room where my mother died.  The boughs 

seemed to be reaching down like hands 

to lift her out of this world.

fine feathered friend

This is a little chicken that lives in my neighborhood. I've known him since he was a baby chick. He goes by the name Wrong Way because his crazy feathered mane obstructs his view and he bumps into things a lot. He is the only Crested Polish chicken in the brood and is treated like an 'ugly duckling', especially by the roosters. He came over today to escape all the drama (and to see me, of course).

What's Going On Up There?

My neighbor above me has a doll collection

and a ventriloquist dummy.

He also has a morning ritual of shaking

the walls of my apartment.

Maybe he is doing the

berries and cream dance.
