Owl Dream

Last night I dreamed I was in a foreign land,
in a dizzying maze of wonder and chaos.
I was shopping (a recurring theme) in an
outdoor marketplace with intriguing little side roads,
(kind of like Marrakech).

I came upon a cave-like alcove.
An old woman sitting on a bench,
sat up and beckoned me to follow....
down a damp, musty stairwell we went, arriving
in a small room lit by candlelight,
illuminating a myriad of tchotchke owl figurines.

One in particular, caught my eye,
carved out of wood. As I gazed at it,
it blinked, and I realized
it was alive...

The old woman felt familiar, yet
resembled no one I have ever met.

I woke up wondering,
"Did this really happen?"

What an interesting dream...and so very clear. I wonder what it means...

It is like a poem!

First off, I love your header. That bit of bluish lace is lovely. Also, thank you for stopping by my cupboard :)

I never know what dreams mean, but I find them fascinating.

Thanks for stopping by the land of dandelion bones. I thought I'd come browse your world... And you had me at the owls... Seriously. I love owls. Nice to "meet" you...

Owls are very keen on prey, like little bunnies.
Perhaps you shall be dreaming of bunnies tonight.
I love owls and they seem to be everywhere. Just bought my daughter a shirt with an owl print and found a vintage necklace with an owl too.

I wish I could remember half that amount of my dreams - I usually remember nothing. Marnie is right, it's lke a poem.

A very pensive, sensitive site. Thank you! Those luscious pomegranates! and the lunar situation: today is the new moon; the owls will be visible tonigt. all cultures seem to think of them as seers, clairvoyant... Please feel free to pop in on me at www.margaretpanpipes.blogspot.com.
Best, Margaret
