Today the local community outdoor swimming pool is officially open for the summer. I have been swimming indoors all winter long and have been looking forward to this day for a while.

I can pretend I am swimming in the ocean, with a dome of blue sky above. One day I will be swimming with the seals at La Jolla Cove again.... Until then, I am relying on the powers of my imagination to turn chlorine into saline.

Both photos are beautiful, one in the city and one in nature. By the way, if you swim with seals, you might be a silkie! (a seal-woman who transforms herself once a year on Midsummer's Eve in order to be with her human children.) Have you seen the movie The Secret of Roan inish? It's really good.
M: I think I've been with my "human children" too long. The ocean is calling! The Secret of Roan Inish is one of my favorite all time movies. (I have it on a much played dvd.)
Ah yes, you and the water -- such a fitting combination. I am sure you must be a beautiful fish at heart...
